W dniach 28-30 czerwca 2018 r. w Olsztynie odbyła się konferencja "2nd Workshop on Porous Media" obejmująca swoją tematyką działania w obszarze ośrodków porowatych: badania struktury, badania właściwości, badania materiałowe, przepływy płynów, wymianę masy i ciepła, transport i składowanie materiałów sypkich, w tym biologicznych i chemicznych, złoża fluidalne, mechanikę gruntów itp.

Dotyczyła ona szeroko rozumianej tematyki procesów geologicznych zachodzących obecnie i w przeszłości w strefie kontaktu morza z lądem, ze szczególnym uwzględnieniem strefy brzegowej Morza Bałtyckiego.
