The Polish Geological Institute - National Research Institute has established cooperation with the Ministry of Defence. The bilateral agreement just signed involves the exchange of products and geographical, geological and geospatial data held by the parties.

The contract was initialed by: płk Leszek Paszkowski, Head of Geospatial Reconnaissance, and prof. dr hab.. Krzysztof Szamałek, Director of PGI-NRI.

In addition to the sharing of data, the agreement also provides for the exchange of experience in the implementation of analytical activities, the provision of specialised substantive, technical and personnel support and, if necessary, the establishment of joint working teams. The agreement further stipulates the mutual provision of training activities and the sharing of e-learning resources held by the signatories.

Thanks to the cooperation, the Institute will gain access to selected materials from the Military Geographical Resource. The most important thing will be the ability to use current topographic bases at various scales and images obtained from aerial and satellite ceilings.

The agreement was concluded in perpetuity and its implementation is to be reviewed annually by the parties.
